KatrinaKaif

कैटरीना कैफ़

Her strongest placement hasn't started running her life yet.

16 JUL 1983 · HONG KONG

TL;DR

An outsider's chart. Built the outsider's way.

In Vedic astrology Saturn is discipline, delay, and the long grind. In Katrina Kaif's chart Saturn sits exalted in Libra — its single strongest sign, and the sign of balance and partnership.
She arrived in Hindi cinema with no film family, a childhood spent across Hong Kong, Hawaii, Japan and the UK, and Hindi she had to learn from scratch — and got mocked for it, on the record, for years.

Two decades on she's one of the industry's most consistently bookable leads, still headlining an action franchise past 40. That's not a lucky placement. It's the placement of someone who does things the slow way and doesn't quit.

Here's the part that actually surprised us while building this: her exalted-Saturn mahadasha, the strongest stretch this chart has to offer, hasn't even started. On the arithmetic, it opens in 2030.
The headline placement
Saturn ★
Exalted in Libra — discipline and endurance at their strongest, in the sign of balance.
The outsider signal
Rahu ℞
Retrograde in Taurus — the hunger of someone building from zero, not inheriting it.
The receipts
No film family
British-Kashmiri parents, a Hong Kong birth, Hindi learned after she arrived, not before.

One clock time circulates. No horoscope database rates it reliable. More on this below.
The glow-up graph

Mocked for her Hindi. Still headlining at 43.

The line is her standing in Hindi cinema. The bar underneath is which planet was running her life — Vedic astrology hands a life to one planet at a time, in a fixed order, for fixed lengths.

How to read this: up means stronger standing, down means written off. Watch where the bar underneath switches from Rahu to Jupiter in 2014 — that's almost exactly where her career switches from ensemble support to solo lead.

Cast in Hindi cinema before she could really speak Hindi.

Boom, 2003 panned; her Hindi was mocked in reviews
  • Her Bollywood debut, Boom (2003), flopped hard, and critics went after her line delivery specifically — a brutal way to start a career in the world's biggest film industry, in a language that wasn't the one she grew up speaking.
  • She kept working through it — smaller ensemble roles, language coaching — and by Namastey London (2007) and Singh Is Kinng (2008) she was headlining opposite the industry's biggest names.
🔭 The long Rahu mahadasha (1996–2014) — Rahu is hunger, and being the outsider who's willing to grind through public mockery to get in.

Three or four releases a year. Most of them hits.

Dhoom 3 the last big hit of her Rahu era
  • Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (2011), Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and Dhoom 3 (December 2013) made her one of the two or three actresses in the industry who could open a big-budget film on her own name.
  • Dhoom 3 landed weeks before her Rahu mahadasha closed out in March 2014 — arguably the single biggest hit of that entire eighteen-year stretch, right at the very end of it.
🔭 Late Rahu, closing out. Everything in this card happened on the outsider's dasha alone — the exalted Saturn stretch was still 16+ years away.

Kay Beauty her own cosmetics brand, launched 2019
  • Bang Bang! released in October 2014, about six months into her chart's Jupiter mahadasha, which began that March. Jupiter is expansion and reach — and the film reset her from ensemble support to solo action lead.
  • In 2019 she launched Kay Beauty, a makeup and skincare label she partly owns rather than merely endorses. Jupiter periods are the ones astrologers associate with growth and entrepreneurship; the timing, at least, lines up.
🔭 Early-to-mid Jupiter mahadasha (2014–2030) — the expansion planet, still running her life today.

2019–2025 · MARRIAGE, TIGER 3, FORTY

Built a beauty brand, got married quietly, kept headlining a spy franchise.

Tiger 3 2023 — still the female lead, at 40
  • She married actor Vicky Kaushal in December 2021, in a private ceremony neither of them turned into a press circus — genuinely unusual for two people that famous. (Curious about his chart? Vicky Kaushal's kundli →)
  • Tiger 3 (2023) kept her as the female lead of one of Hindi cinema's biggest action franchises at 40 — an age the industry has historically retired its leading women well before.
🔭 Deep in Jupiter (2014–2030) — still the expansion planet's stretch, running through the marriage and the beauty brand alike.

A caution we'd rather give you than hide: her birth time is unrated by the astrology database that recorded it, and there's a second, unresolved wrinkle specific to her — see the timezone note in Lesson 06. We've used it as a working assumption and written everything era-first rather than claiming false precision.

The messy bits

Everything you're actually here for

Two decades of fame means two decades of tabloid noise. None of what follows is a scandal — it's public record, and we say so plainly.

🗣️ The accent that became a punchline
What's public

Boom flopped in 2003 and critics roasted her Hindi delivery specifically. For years afterward, entertainment shows and rival stars openly joked about it. She's spoken since about hiring a language coach and rebuilding, slowly, in public.

What the chart hints

Retrograde Rahu in its own comfort zone, Taurus. Rahu magnifies whatever it touches, often uncomfortably, before the placement's real gift — endurance, showing up anyway — has time to mature.

💍 Two headline relationships, no headline breakup drama
What's public

She was publicly linked to Salman Khan from roughly 2003 to 2010, and to Ranbir Kapoor from roughly 2010 to 2016 — both acknowledged by her directly, years later, in interviews. Both endings stayed unusually free of the industry's usual mudslinging.

What the chart hints

That exalted Saturn again. Saturn's whole job is boundaries and quiet endurance — the same discipline that got her through a decade of brutal reviews is a reasonable read on what kept two very public relationships from turning into two very public wars.

📏 The industry clock she wasn't supposed to beat
What's public

Hindi cinema has a well-documented habit of aging out its leading women far earlier than its leading men. Katrina Kaif was still the female lead of a tentpole action franchise (Tiger 3, 2023) at 40, opposite a co-star fifteen years older who faced none of the same scrutiny about it.

What the chart hints

Less one placement than a pattern — a chart with no big debilitations dragging it down, and its single strongest stretch still ahead of it. We're not calling the industry's double standard astrological, though. That part's just the industry.

Being straight with you: none of the above is a scandal — a brutal first review, two adult relationships that ended like adult relationships, and an industry double standard that's been reported on for decades. We're using the chart as a lens on her story, the same way the rest of this page does, not as a verdict on anyone.
Certified comeback arcs

Two arcs that had no business ending well

The outsider who couldn't speak the language, cast anyway

  • Born in Hong Kong to a British father and a mother of Kashmiri-English descent, she grew up moving through Hawaii, Japan and France before her family settled in the UK — Hindi was closer to a fourth language than a first one.
  • Boom (2003) flopped hard, and the reviews went after her line delivery specifically — about as rough a start as a career in Indian cinema gets.
  • She kept working: smaller roles, language coaching, and by Namastey London (2007) and Singh Is Kinng (2008) she was headlining opposite the biggest names in the business.

🔭 The chart bit: all of this happens inside one single Rahu mahadasha (1996–2014). Eighteen years is a long time to be "the outsider" — this arc is only the first third of it.

Forty, married, and still the female lead of an action franchise

  • Tiger 3 (2023) kept her as the female lead of one of Hindi cinema's biggest action franchises, at an age the industry has historically retired its leading women to "mother" roles.
  • Kay Beauty, launched in 2019, has grown into an actual retail beauty brand rather than a celebrity name stuck on someone else's factory line.
  • She married in December 2021 and kept working at the pace she was working at fifteen years earlier.

🔭 The chart bit: all of this sits inside Jupiter (2014–2030) — and her single strongest placement, exalted Saturn, doesn't even begin its own mahadasha until 2030. On the arithmetic, whatever this chart considers her peak stretch hasn't started yet.

What the sky wrote

Four placements. Four receipts.

Saturn · in Libra
exalted

The strongest placement in the whole chart — and it hasn't run her life yet

  • Saturn is discipline, delay and endurance. Libra is the one sign where it's exalted — its single strongest spot, and fittingly the sign of balance and partnership.
  • No film family, a language learned on the job, two decades of unglamorous consistency instead of one flashy debut. That's a Saturn story if there ever was one.
  • Her Saturn mahadasha doesn't begin until 2030 — she'll be 46. This isn't a prediction of what happens then; it's just the arithmetic of what stretch is next.
🔭 Saturn in Libra — exalted. The one placement on this page with a dignity label at all; everything else in her chart is neutral.

Jupiter · in Scorpio, ℞
current mahadasha

The expansion planet, running her life right now

  • Jupiter is growth, reach and teaching. Retrograde in Scorpio, it works inward and intensely rather than loudly — expansion through depth, not spectacle.
  • Her Jupiter mahadasha (2014–2030) covers Bang Bang!, the Kay Beauty launch, her marriage, and Tiger 3 — arguably the steadiest, highest-output stretch of her career so far.
  • Directly opposite Scorpio sits Taurus — where her Rahu lives. The chart's growth planet is aimed straight at its hungriest one.
🔭 Jupiter in Scorpio, retrograde. Mahadasha running 2014–2030; current antardasha is Moon (see Lesson 05).
Katrina Kaif at the press launch of the book Raajneeti — The Film & Beyond, 2012
Rahu · in Taurus, ℞
outsider's hunger

The hunger that got her mocked before it got her anywhere

  • Rahu is obsession and craving — usually for whatever the placement's sign represents. In Taurus, that's material comfort, stability, a body and a voice that are accepted without question.
  • Her entire debut-to-breakthrough run (Boom in 2003 through Namastey London in 2007) happened inside her Rahu mahadasha (1996–2014) — eighteen years of the outsider's placement running the show.
  • Rahu and Ketu are always shown as retrograde — that's just how the lunar nodes move, not a special event on its own.
🔭 Rahu in Taurus. Mahadasha closed out in March 2014, right as Dhoom 3 became her biggest hit yet.
Katrina Kaif in a promotional portrait while promoting Bharat, 2019
Moon · in Virgo
current antardasha

The sub-period running literally right now

  • The Moon is mind, mood and instinct. In Virgo — Hasta nakshatra, "the hand" — it leans toward craft, precision and building things with visible, hands-on effort.
  • On the one circulating birth time, her current antardasha (sub-period) is Moon, running 27 July 2025 to 26 November 2026 — inside the larger Jupiter mahadasha.
  • A craft-and-precision placement running during the stretch that includes Kay Beauty's continued build-out is, at minimum, a tidy coincidence.
🔭 Moon in Virgo, Hasta nakshatra (pada 2). Current antardasha — see Lesson 05 for the honest caveat on sub-period dates.

Actually learn this

Astrology, but make it make sense

Zero background needed. Read this once and you can decode the chart above yourself — no astrologer required.

LESSON 01

What a birth chart even is

It's a photo of the sky from the exact spot and second someone was born. Where each planet was sitting, frozen.

Vedic astrology says that snapshot describes the raw material you were handed — not your fate, your starting kit.

Hers: 16 July 1983, Hong Kong. Sun in Gemini, Moon in Virgo, Saturn in Libra. That last one carries most of this page's story.
LESSON 02

The planets, and what each one does

Nine of them. Think of them as nine departments, each running one part of a life.

PlanetRunsWhere hers is
☉ Sunstatus, ego, the spotlightGemini
☾ Moonmind, mood, instinctVirgo
♂ Marsdrive, fight, courageGemini
☿ Mercuryspeech, logic, witCancer
♃ Jupitergrowth, reach, warmthScorpio
♀ Venuscharm, romance, beautyLeo
♄ Saturnpatience, grind, delaysLibra ★ exalted
☊ Rahuhunger, obsessionTaurus
☋ Ketuletting go, detachmentScorpio
LESSON 03

Why "which sign" actually matters

Every planet has signs where it's comfortable and signs where it struggles. Same planet, wildly different output.

  • Exalted (★) — its single strongest sign. Rare, and usually the loudest thing in a chart.
  • Debilitated (↓) — its worst sign. Still works, just badly and against friction.
  • Neutral — in between, which is most planets in most charts, including eight of her nine.
Her scorecard: a genuinely flat chart with one spike. Eight neutral placements, and one exalted Saturn — discipline and endurance at maximum strength. Most charts don't have a single placement this loud; hers has exactly one, and it happens to be the planet that best explains a two-decade career built the hard way.
LESSON 04

Dashas — why timing is the whole game

This is the bit most people have never heard of, and it's where the real story usually is.

A life splits into long stretches, each one run by a single planet. Fixed order, fixed lengths, and which one you start in is decided by exactly where the Moon was at birth. The technical name is dasha.

Her full ladder:
Moon (1983–89) → Mars (89–96) → Rahu (1996–2014) → Jupiter (2014–2030, current) → Saturn (2030–2049)

Rahu covers the mocked debut through the commercial peak. Jupiter covers everything from Bang Bang! to today. Saturn — her strongest placement — hasn't started yet.
LESSON 05

Sub-periods — the chapters inside the chapter

An eighteen-year mahadasha is too blunt to be useful on its own, so each one splits again into sub-periods (antardashas), each handed to a different planet in turn.

Her current sub-period: on the one circulating birth time, she's living through a Moon antardasha right now — 27 July 2025 to 26 November 2026 — inside the larger Jupiter mahadasha. Moon in Virgo leans toward craft and precision; take that as flavour, not a forecast, given the time-source caveat in the next lesson.
LESSON 06

What we genuinely can't tell you — and for her it's two layers, not one

A chart has two halves: the signs, which barely move across a day, and the houses, which need the exact minute because the rising sign changes about every two hours.

Layer one — the usual problem. Exactly one birth time circulates for Katrina Kaif: 06:40, from a reference called "765 Notable Horoscopes." That source itself rates the entry unrated — its own compilers don't vouch for it. That alone would be enough to keep houses off this page.

Layer two — specific to her. She was born in Hong Kong, whose real local clock is HKT (UTC+8) — not IST (UTC+5:30), India's zone. We don't know which convention "765 Notable Horoscopes" used when it recorded "06:40." If that's genuine Hong Kong local time and someone simply typed it into a chart calculator set to IST, the true birth instant is off by two and a half hours — enough to matter for a rising sign, though not enough to move most of the sign-level placements shown on this page.

So: the signs above were computed using IST as an explicit working assumption, and we're telling you that instead of hiding it. There's no lagna, no houses, no marriage house, no manglik verdict anywhere on this page. Any site handing you those for her, to the minute, either didn't notice the timezone problem or didn't check.
LESSON 07

So — is Katrina Kaif manglik?

The most-asked astrology question about almost any famous person, and the honest answer is unsatisfying.

Manglik status depends entirely on which house Mars sits in. Houses need the birth minute — and, per Lesson 06, hers carries two separate layers of doubt on top of that.

What we can say: her Mars sits in Gemini, a neutral sign for it — neither exalted nor debilitated. Whether it lands in a manglik house genuinely cannot be answered from what's publicly known. She's been married to actor Vicky Kaushal since December 2021.
LESSON 08

How to actually read that chart square

The grid earlier on this page is a South-Indian chart, the easiest of the three regional styles to learn because the signs never move.

Twelve boxes around the edge, one per zodiac sign, always in the same places. Pisces top-left, then clockwise: Aries, Taurus, Gemini down the right, and so on. Memorise the ring once and you can read any South-Indian chart for the rest of your life.

Try it: scroll back up and find the box marked LIB. Whatever symbol sits in it — her exalted Saturn — was in Libra at the moment of birth. You just read a kundli.
LESSON 09

Aspects — planets shouting across the chart

A planet doesn't only affect the box it sits in. It also throws its influence at other boxes from a distance. Astrologers call this an aspect, and it's why a planet can matter for an area of life it isn't sitting in.

The basic rule: every planet aspects the box directly opposite it — seven signs away. Mars, Jupiter and Saturn each get extra reach on top of that.

Hers: Jupiter sits in Scorpio. Directly opposite Scorpio is Taurus — where her retrograde Rahu lives. The chart's growth-and-luck planet is aimed straight at its hungriest, most obsessive placement.

Why you should care: it's the usual answer to "but that planet isn't even in my career box, so why does it keep coming up?" It's shouting from across the room.
LESSON 10

Retrograde and combust, without the drama

A few words that get thrown around a lot and sound far worse than they are.

Retrograde means a planet appeared to move backwards across the sky — an optical effect of Earth overtaking it, the way a slower car seems to slide backwards when you pass it. Traditionally it makes a planet's themes more internal and slower to show results.

Rahu and Ketu are a special case — the lunar nodes are essentially always shown as retrograde, by how they're calculated, so seeing "℞" next to them isn't a special event. Her actual retrograde planet is Jupiter, in Scorpio.

Hers: nothing in her chart is marked combust. Jupiter retrograde in Scorpio is the one real retrograde signal, and it points toward growth that happens through depth and privacy rather than spectacle — a fair description of how she's actually handled the last decade of her life in public.
LESSON 11

What this can and can't tell you

Worth being blunt, since this page has spent a while treating a chart as a serious object.

  • It can describe tendencies, and it can time long stretches — that part is arithmetic, and two astrologers with the same birth data will compute the same periods.
  • It can't tell you what someone will do with those tendencies. Two people with near-identical charts live completely different lives.
  • It definitely can't predict a pregnancy, a marriage date, or an exam result — and anyone who does is guessing with confidence.
The honest framing: a chart is a description of the raw material and the weather. It is not a script, and nothing on this page should be read as one.
Quick answers

What people ask about her kundli

FAQ 01

What is Katrina Kaif's real birth time?

No verified birth time exists. A time of 06:40 circulates via a source called "765 Notable Horoscopes," but that source itself rates the entry unrated, and there's a separate, unresolved question about whether it was recorded in Hong Kong's local time zone or India's. This page publishes what holds regardless — her zodiac signs, nakshatras and dasha eras — never houses or a lagna.

FAQ 02

What is Katrina Kaif's zodiac sign and nakshatra?

Her Moon — the sign Vedic astrology uses for a person's "rashi" — sits in Virgo, in the Hasta nakshatra. Her Sun sits in Gemini, in Punarvasu nakshatra. The full birth chart is above; every position is computed, not copied from another site.

FAQ 03

Is Katrina Kaif manglik?

Her Mars sits in Gemini, a neutral sign — not the placement's own sign and not its weak one. Whether that lands in a manglik house can't be confirmed without a verified birth minute, which she doesn't have. She's been married to Vicky Kaushal since December 2021.

FAQ 04

Do Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal's kundlis match?

We haven't run a formal 36-guna matching for the couple on this page — that needs a confirmed birth time on both sides, and his is more solidly sourced than hers. If you want to see how compatibility matching actually works, our free kundli tool runs the same 36-point Ashtakoot system used by professional astrologers, on your own chart or a couple's.

FAQ 05

What does astrology say about Katrina Kaif having a baby?

Nothing we're willing to publish as fact. Since her December 2021 marriage, tabloids and astrology forums have speculated for years about if or when she and Vicky Kaushal might have children — none of it confirmed by either of them. A birth chart can't responsibly predict pregnancy or family timing for a real person, and we're not going to pretend otherwise just because it's a popular search.

Method. Every planetary position here was computed from her birth date and birthplace using the Swiss Ephemeris with the Lahiri ayanamsa — the same engine behind our paid reports, not copied from another astrology site. Her birth time (06:40) circulates via "765 Notable Horoscopes" but is rated unrated by that source, and carries a second, unresolved uncertainty over whether it was recorded in Hong Kong local time (HKT, UTC+8) or India Standard Time (UTC+5:30); sign-level placements were computed using IST as an explicit working assumption. We publish sign, nakshatra and dasha-era facts only, and make no claims that depend on houses or a rising sign.

On relationships and speculation. Her past relationships with Salman Khan and Ranbir Kapoor are included because she has confirmed them herself, publicly, in interviews; we have not speculated about anything she hasn't. We do not predict pregnancy, marriage timing or family planning for any real person, and the "baby astrology" search interest around her is addressed directly in our FAQ rather than fed.
