TL;DR

One placement's on the floor. One's at the ceiling.

In Vedic astrology the Moon runs your inner world — mood, instinct, how safe your own head feels. In Alia Bhatt's kundli the Moon sits in Scorpio, its single weakest sign: debilitated.
Right beside it, in the same birth chart, sits Venus — charm, art, being watched — in Pisces, its single strongest sign. Exalted.

One planet built for the private and the internal, running at its classical worst. One planet built for the public and the performed, running at its classical best. Same nine-minute window, 15 March 1993, Mumbai.

Nothing here explains her career. It's just an unusually sharp contrast to build a reading around — and her birth time is solid enough that we can actually show you the houses too.

Not a comeback story. A straight climb.

No crash-and-recovery arc here — just five mahadashas, one after another, each one lining up with a real, checkable chapter of her career.

How to read this: the line is roughly her public standing over time. The bar underneath shows which planet has been running her life — a two-year Mercury stretch, a seven-year Ketu stretch, twenty years of Venus, and Sun since the very end of 2022.

  • Played the young version of Preity Zinta's character in Sangharsh (1999), a production from her father Mahesh Bhatt's banner.
  • Nobody counted it as a real credit at the time, including her — it surfaced again publicly only years later, once people went looking.
🔭 Deep in her Ketu mahadasha (1995–2002). Ketu is the detachment planet — a foothold that barely registered, even to her.

  • Won the National Film Award for Best Actress in October 2023 (shared with Kriti Sanon), made her Hollywood debut in Heart of Stone alongside Gal Gadot later that year, and headlined the YRF Spy Universe's first female-led film, Alpha, in July 2026.
🔭 All of it inside Sun mahadasha (started 23 Dec 2022) — currently in a Sun–Saturn sub-period, 29 Oct 2025 to 11 Oct 2026.

Her birth time — 04:10 AM, Mumbai — is published in the Seth astrological databank with a Rodden rating of A ("good" confidence). That's why this page can show houses and a real manglik answer where most celebrity kundlis on this site can't. Lesson 06 explains exactly what that buys you.

The tea ☕

Everything you're actually here for

Two things people actually search her name to find. Neither is a scandal — here's what the chart has to say about the pattern, not the gossip.

🎬 The "nepo kid" debate, on loop since 2012
What's public

Being Mahesh Bhatt and Soni Razdan's daughter has followed her since Student of the Year. It resurfaced hard in 2020, when Bollywood's industry-wide nepotism debate blew up after Sushant Singh Rajput's death.

She's addressed it directly more than once — acknowledging the head start while pointing at more than a decade of work since.

What the chart hints

Her Rahu sits in Scorpio, conjunct her Moon, in the 11th house — public reach and networks. Rahu amplifies whatever it touches, and here it's sitting directly on the planet of image.

A chart built for getting looked at more than most, for better and worse.

🎤 The interview clip that wouldn't die
What's public

A 2015 TV quiz-show clip where she stumbled on the President of India's name went viral and turned into a years-long meme. She's since spoken openly about how much it stung at the time.

What the chart hints

Mercury — speech, quick recall, thinking on your feet — sits retrograde in her chart. The classical reading of a retrograde Mercury: reliable under normal conditions, prone to going blank at the worst possible moment.

Being straight with you: neither of these is a scandal — one's an industry debate about privilege, the other's a clip that went viral. We include them because they're what people actually search for, not because the chart explains or excuses anything. It doesn't.
Certified receipts

Two things that don't fit the easy story

Six years old on a film set, thirteen years before her "debut"

  • Her actual first time in front of a camera was 1999, not 2012 — a one-scene role as the young Reet Oberoi in her father's production Sangharsh.
  • Nobody counted it, including her, until fans dug it up years later. By the time Student of the Year happened, she'd technically been around film sets, on and off, most of her life.

🔭 The chart bit: Ketu ran that entire period, 1995–2002 — the planet of things that don't register as significant until much later.

From "forgot the President's name" to a National Award winner

  • The 2015 general-knowledge meme years and the 2023 National Award for Gangubai Kathiawadi involve the same person, about seven years apart.
  • In between: Raazi, Gully Boy, Highway — a run of films critics took seriously whether or not the internet had already decided who she was.

🔭 The chart bit: exalted Venus running the whole stretch. It doesn't erase a bad clip — but it's the planet of being watched, and eventually being watched for the right reasons.

What the sky wrote

Four planets. Four receipts.

Moon · Scorpio
11th House
Moon · in Scorpio · debilitated

The mind planet, working the hardest

  • The Moon runs mood, instinct, how safe your own head feels day to day. Scorpio is its single weakest sign — nothing about emotional processing comes easy or automatic.
  • It sits in the 11th house from her verified Capricorn ascendant — the house of gains, networks, being seen by a lot of people at once. A private-processing placement, parked in the most public house in the chart.
  • Nakshatra: Jyeshtha, pada 4 — a star traditionally tied to intensity and carrying more responsibility than your actual position implies.
🔭 Moon in Scorpio — debilitated. Classical astrology's weakest spot for the mind, in the chart of someone whose job is playing other people's inner lives on screen.

Venus · Pisces
3rd House
Venus · in Pisces · exalted

The craft planet, at its classical best

  • Venus runs charm, art, beauty, being watched — and Pisces is its single strongest sign, full power with no friction.
  • It sits in the 3rd house — courage, communication, self-effort. Classical texts read an exalted Venus here as talent that has to be practiced into a craft, not one that just shows up.
  • It's conjunct her Sun, in the same sign and house — the planet running her life right now sits directly next to her single strongest placement.
🔭 Venus in Pisces — exalted. The strongest a planet gets in this system, sitting right beside her current mahadasha lord.

Saturn · Aquarius
2nd House
Saturn · in Aquarius · own sign

The one actually running this exact year

  • Saturn is patience, grind, the work nobody sees. In Aquarius it's on home ground — full strength, though Saturn-strong always means heavier, not easier.
  • It sits in the 2nd house — speech and accumulated resources. An own-sign Saturn there classically reads as money that builds slowly and doesn't evaporate.
  • Its special aspect reaches three houses ahead of itself, landing on the 11th — exactly where her Moon and Rahu sit. The steadying planet is aiming straight at her weakest placement, right now.
🔭 Saturn in Aquarius — own sign, and the exact planet running her current Sun–Saturn sub-period.
Alia Bhatt meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Ranbir Kapoor, December 2024
Sun · Pisces
Mahadasha Lord
Sun · in Pisces · current mahadasha

Not her strongest planet. Just the one in charge

  • The Sun runs identity and authority — being your own centre rather than someone's daughter, co-star or wife. It's neutral in Pisces: no particular strength or weakness, just present.
  • It's been her mahadasha lord since 23 December 2022 — right after her wedding and weeks after Raha's birth, not before either one.
  • The National Award, Heart of Stone, Alpha, and her production house have all landed under this placement, conjunct her exalted Venus.
🔭 Sun mahadasha, 2022–2028. The identity chapter, running right alongside her best-placed planet.

Actually learn this

Astrology, but make it make sense

Zero background needed. Read this once and you can decode the chart above yourself — no astrologer required.

LESSON 01

What a birth chart even is

It's a photo of the sky from the exact spot and second you were born — where every planet was sitting, frozen.

Vedic astrology reads that snapshot as raw material, not a script. What anyone does with a placement is still entirely up to them.

Hers: 15 March 1993, 04:10 AM, Mumbai. That sky had a debilitated Moon in Scorpio and an exalted Venus in Pisces one sign apart from a cluster of retrograde planets — an unusually loaded chart either way you read it.
LESSON 02

The planets, and what each one does

Nine of them. Think of them as nine departments, each running one part of a life.

PlanetRunsWhere hers is
☉ Sunidentity, ego, authorityPisces
☾ Moonmind, mood, instinctScorpio ↓ weakest
♂ Marsdrive, courage, conflictGemini
☿ Mercuryspeech, logic, witAquarius (retrograde)
♃ Jupitergrowth, luck, judgementVirgo (retrograde)
♀ Venuscharm, art, romancePisces ★ strongest
♄ Saturnpatience, grind, delayAquarius ★ home
☊ Rahuobsession, amplificationScorpio (retrograde)
☋ Ketudetachment, letting goTaurus (retrograde)
LESSON 03

Why "which sign" actually matters

Every planet has signs where it's comfortable and signs where it struggles. Same planet, wildly different output.

  • Own sign (★ home) — the planet owns the place. Full strength.
  • Exalted (★ strongest) — its single best sign. Peak output, no friction.
  • Debilitated (↓ weakest) — its single worst sign. Still works, just against constant resistance.
Her scorecard: one planet at each classical extreme — Saturn on home ground, Venus at its single strongest sign, Moon at its single weakest. Most charts don't hit all three flavours at once. Hers does.
LESSON 04

Dashas — why timing is the whole game

Your life splits into long stretches, each one run by a single planet. Fixed order, fixed lengths, and which one you start in is decided by exactly where the Moon was at birth. The technical name is dasha.

Her ladder, computed:
Mercury 1993–95 · Ketu 1995–2002 · Venus 2002–2022 · Sun 2022–2028 (current) · Moon 2028–2038

Twenty years of Venus covers essentially her entire rise — debut to marriage. Sun has run everything since.
LESSON 05

Sub-periods — the chapters inside the chapter

A twenty-year stretch is too blunt to be useful on its own, so each mahadasha splits into shorter sub-periods (antardashas), each briefly handed to a different planet.

Right now: she's in a Sun–Saturn antardasha, running 29 October 2025 to 11 October 2026. We're showing you this one because it's the current, verified sub-period — we haven't recomputed her full historical antardasha ladder back through 1993, so we're not backdating sub-periods we haven't actually run.
LESSON 06

What a verified birth time actually buys you

A chart has two layers: the signs, which barely move across a whole day, and the houses — plus the rising sign, the lagna — which shift roughly every two hours and need the birth minute to place correctly.

Alia Bhatt's birth time — 04:10 AM, Mumbai — comes from the Seth astrological databank with a Rodden rating of A ("good": a documented, reasonably reliable source, not a guess). That's an uncommon level of confidence for a Bollywood chart.

What that unlocks: a rising sign (Capricorn), house placements for all nine grahas, and an actual answer to the manglik question — three things this site deliberately withholds on charts with disputed or missing birth times. We still name the source and rating every time, because "verified" is a confidence level, not a certainty.
LESSON 07

So — is Alia Bhatt manglik?

The most-searched astrology question about almost anyone — and for once, the birth time holds up well enough to actually answer it.

"Manglik" (Kuja dosha) means Mars sits in one of a handful of houses tied to marriage, counted two different ways depending on the classical method.

Counted from her rising sign (Capricorn): Mars sits in the 6th house — not a manglik house. By that method, not manglik.

Counted from her Moon (Scorpio) instead: Mars lands in the 8th house — which is one. By that method, manglik (specifically "Chandra-manglik," the moon-based version some traditions treat as milder).

Different schools weight the two methods differently, and neither classical cancellation we check for (Mars own/exalted, or a Jupiter aspect on Mars) applies here. We're giving you both readings rather than picking whichever sounds more definitive. What's not in dispute: she's been married to Ranbir Kapoor since April 2022.
LESSON 08

How to actually read that chart square

The grid earlier on this page is a South-Indian chart — the easiest of the three styles to learn, because the signs never move.

Twelve boxes around the edge, one per zodiac sign, always in the same places. Pisces top-left, then clockwise: Aries, Taurus, Gemini along the top, Cancer and Leo down the right, and so on.

Try it: find the box marked PIS. Two symbols sit in it — her Sun and her exalted Venus, conjunct. You just read a kundli.
LESSON 09

Aspects — planets shouting across the chart

A planet doesn't only affect the box it sits in — it also throws influence at other boxes from a distance. Astrologers call this an aspect. The basic rule: every planet aspects the box directly opposite it. Saturn, Mars, Jupiter and the nodes get extra reach on top of that.

Hers: Saturn's special aspects reach three, seven and ten houses ahead of itself. From her 2nd house, that lands on the 4th, 8th and 11th. The 11th is exactly where her Moon and Rahu sit — the steadying, patient planet currently running her life is aimed straight at her weakest placement.
LESSON 10

Retrograde and combust, without the drama

Retrograde means the planet appeared to move backwards across the sky — an optical effect of Earth overtaking it, not an actual reversal. The classical reading is that the planet's themes turn more internal and slower to show results.

Hers: three of her five non-luminary, non-node planets — Mercury, Jupiter and Venus — are all retrograde at once. That's an unusual concentration. Classical astrology doesn't read this as bad; if anything, a retrograde planet is said to work with unusual intensity once it delivers, just on its own schedule rather than an obvious one.
LESSON 11

What this can and can't tell you

  • It can describe tendencies and time long stretches — that part is arithmetic, and two astrologers with the same birth data compute the same periods.
  • It can't tell you what someone does with those tendencies. Two near-identical charts live completely different lives.
  • It definitely can't give exact dates for a diagnosis, a divorce, or an exam result — and anyone who does is guessing with confidence.
The honest framing: a chart describes the raw material and the weather. It is not a script, and nothing on this page should be read as one.

Quick answers

What people ask about her kundli

FAQ 01

What is Alia Bhatt's birth time?

04:10 AM in Mumbai, published in the Seth astrological databank with a Rodden rating of A — "good" confidence, meaning it traces to a documented source rather than a guess. It's solid enough that this page shows her houses and rising sign, not just her signs.

FAQ 02

What is her zodiac sign and nakshatra?

Her Moon — the sign Vedic astrology reads as the real "rashi" — sits in Scorpio, debilitated, in the Jyeshtha nakshatra (pada 4). Her Sun sits in Pisces, which is the sign a Western newspaper horoscope would give her; Vedic horoscope readings lean on the Moon and nakshatra instead. The full birth chart is above, computed from her verified birth data, not copied from anywhere.

FAQ 03

Do Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor's kundlis match?

A proper 36-guna Milan match needs both birth charts run together, which is its own report rather than something we're doing on her solo kundli page. What's on public record: they married on 14 April 2022 and have a daughter, Raha, born that November. If you want an actual guna-by-guna compatibility read for a couple, that's what our matching report does.

FAQ 04

Is Alia Bhatt manglik?

Depends which classical method you use — not manglik counted from her rising sign, manglik counted from her Moon. Lesson 07 above walks through both readings honestly rather than picking one.

Method. Every planetary position, house and dasha date on this page was computed from her birth date, time and place (15 March 1993, 04:10 AM, Mumbai) using the Swiss Ephemeris with the Lahiri ayanamsa — the same engine behind every AxtroShastra report, not copied from another astrology site. Her birth time is published in the Seth astrological databank with a Rodden rating of A ("good" confidence); we name that source and rating deliberately, because a verified time is still a confidence level, not a certainty.
