The decade the industry rebuilt around him
- He debuted in a supporting role in Biwi Ho To Aisi (1988), then led Maine Pyar Kiya (1989) — one of the biggest Hindi hits of its decade and the film that made him a household name.
- Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! (1994) went on to become one of the highest-grossing Indian films ever made at that point, followed by Karan Arjun (1995) and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999).
The slow years, then the reset
- The early 2000s were his least consistent commercial stretch in a decade — a run of films that underperformed against what came before.
- In 2007 he set up the Being Human Foundation, which funds healthcare and education work and sells a clothing line whose proceeds go to the trust. It has since become as recognisable as most of his films.
- Wanted (2009) reset the whole thing, and Dabangg (2010) turned the reset into a franchise.
The Eid slot, and the living room
- He has hosted Bigg Boss from its fourth season in 2010 onward, which put him in Indian living rooms every week for months at a time, year after year.
- On the film side, the Eid release slot effectively became his: Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Kick (2014), Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) and Sultan (2016) each set or approached box-office records on release.
Peak reach, harder ground
- Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) was one of the biggest openers of his career. Bharat (2019) followed.
- The stretch after it was choppier — pandemic-era release chaos, and a run of films that landed well below the mid-2010s peak.
- Off screen he kept turning up for other people's work, from public-health campaigns to sports curtain-raisers like the one pictured here.
The new engine
- The Saturn-to-Mercury handover falls somewhere between late 2021 and late 2023 — again, depending on which birth time you take.
- On the other side of it: Tiger 3 (2023), Sikandar (2025), and Bigg Boss still running.
- Mercury is the graha of speech, commerce, negotiation and image management — the departments a fourth-decade career actually runs on.
Why there are no exact dates above: run this birth date at 10:45am, 2:30pm and 6:00am and the mahadasha order comes out identical every time — but each handover shifts by up to about two years. So we publish the sequence, which is solid, and the eras, which are honest. Lesson 06 below shows exactly why the order survives and the dates don't.
The three things people actually search
What the chart says about the pattern — and, just as often, what it honestly cannot say at all.
He has never married. That's the whole of the public record, and it is the only part of it we're going to discuss — his private life is his own, and this page has nothing to say about who he has or hasn't been with.
Genuinely: not much, and here's why. Marriage analysis in Vedic astrology is house work — the 7th house and its lord. Houses need the birth minute, and three different minutes are in circulation for him.
What holds by date alone: Venus in Capricorn (neutral by sign) and Jupiter retrograde in Gemini. Any site giving you a confident "marriage yog" verdict has quietly picked one of the three times and isn't telling you which.
For most of the 2010s, an Eid weekend release from him was close to a guaranteed box-office event — Ek Tha Tiger, Kick, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Sultan, Tiger Zinda Hai, one after another.
All of it sits inside one long Saturn mahadasha, with Saturn in the sign it owns. Saturn's traditional signature isn't the lightning strike — it's the fixed slot, held for years, by repetition.
A streak is a very Saturn-shaped thing. That's an observation about a pattern, not a prediction about the next one.
The shirtless entrance became a signature of his 2010s films, and his fitness has been a running part of his public image for over thirty years.
Mars is the body graha — physical drive, muscle, appetite for confrontation. His Mars is exalted, the strongest dignity a planet gets.

Two long-running legal matters are part of Salman Khan's public record. It would be dishonest to write a page about him and skip them, and equally dishonest to mention them without their outcomes. So, plainly:
- The 2002 Mumbai hit-and-run case. A sessions court convicted him in May 2015. The Bombay High Court set that conviction aside and acquitted him of all charges in December 2015, holding the evidence insufficient. The Maharashtra government's appeal against that acquittal was admitted by the Supreme Court in July 2016 and remains pending. He stands acquitted.
- The 1998 Kankani blackbuck case. A Jodhpur trial court convicted him in April 2018 and sentenced him to five years; he was granted bail two days later, and his appeal is pending before the Rajasthan High Court, which is still hearing it. Separately, the Rajasthan High Court acquitted him in two other poaching cases in 2016. A pending appeal is pending — not a conclusion.
Two stretches that restarted a career

- After a decade of era-defining hits, the early 2000s were his most inconsistent commercial run — enough that "past his peak" became a normal thing to write about him.
- Wanted (2009) rewrote that verdict in a single weekend, and Dabangg (2010) made it a template other films copied for years.
- He was 43 when Wanted released, and the decade that followed was the biggest of his career.

- Mars runs drive, physicality and confrontation. His sits in Capricorn — the sign where Mars is traditionally at its strongest, in the nakshatra Uttara Ashadha.

The anchor — and the one thing still unsettled
- Dhanishta holds at every minute of 27 December 1965, so his birth nakshatra is settled by the date alone. Its traditional symbol is a drum, and its lord is Mars.
- His Moon sign is a different story. The Moon crosses from Capricorn into Aquarius at roughly 11:22am that day — so the 10:45am time gives Capricorn, and the 2:30pm time gives Aquarius. Sites quote both, and both are computed correctly from their own assumption.
- Because the nakshatra survives and only the sign flips, the dasha sequence stays publishable while the rashi label does not.

The nineteen-year landlord
- Saturn owns Aquarius, and here it sits in Aquarius — a graha on its own ground, in the nakshatra Shatabhisha.
- Its mahadasha is the longest in the Vimshottari system at nineteen years, and in his ladder it covers the early 2000s through the early 2020s: the Bigg Boss run, the Eid streak, and Being Human.
- Saturn is the endurance graha. A two-decade run at the top of an industry is, structurally, a Saturn-shaped thing.

The graha that ran the 1990s
- Jupiter governs growth, goodwill and expansion. His sits in Gemini, in Mrigashira nakshatra, and it is retrograde — apparently moving backwards from Earth's view.
- Retrograde doesn't mean broken. The classical reading is that the planet's results arrive on their own schedule rather than the obvious one — often bigger, often later than expected.
- Its mahadasha covers the late 1980s to the early 2000s: Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, Karan Arjun, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.

Vedic astrology treats that snapshot as the raw material a person was handed — not their fate, their starting kit.

Why "which sign" actually matters
Every planet has signs where it's comfortable and signs where it struggles. Same planet, different room, different output.
- Exalted (strongest spot) — the planet is at maximum, working with the wind behind it.
- Home ground (own sign) — the planet owns the place. Full strength, no permission needed.
- Debilitated (weakest spot) — it's working with the handbrake on.
- Everywhere else (neutral) — a guest. Functional, not special.
Dashas — why timing is the whole game
This is the bit most people have never heard of, and it's the most useful.
Planets don't all act at once. They take turns running a life, for years at a stretch, in a fixed order the Moon's position sets at birth. Vedic astrology calls a planet's turn a dasha, and the full sequence for a lifetime is called the Vimshottari dasha.
Mars (from birth) → Rahu → Jupiter → Saturn → Mercury (current) → Ketu → Venus…
That order is fixed by his nakshatra and doesn't change no matter which of the three birth times you use. What does change is when each handover lands — by up to about two years. Which is why this page gives you eras and not anniversaries.
Nakshatras — the 27 slices behind everything
Signs cut the sky into 12. Nakshatras cut it into 27, and Vedic astrology leans on them harder than on the signs for anything to do with timing.
Each nakshatra has a ruling planet. Whichever one the Moon occupies at birth decides which planet's mahadasha runs first — and therefore the order of every turn after it.

What we genuinely can't tell you
Here's where most celebrity astrology sites quietly cheat, and we won't.
A chart has two halves. Which sign each planet is in — that only needs the date, so everything above is solid. And the houses, which need the exact minute of birth, because the rising sign changes roughly every two hours.
The 10:45am time carries a strong source trail — a named biographer, a named nursing home. But a second time is published just as confidently by the largest astrology site in India, and a third floats around the databases. Rated is not the same as undisputed, and this site treats a live disagreement as a reason to publish less, not more.
So — is Salman Khan manglik?
One of the most-searched questions about him, and the honest answer is uncomfortable.
"Manglik" depends on which house Mars occupies — a specific short list of positions counted from the rising sign. Houses need the birth time. His rising sign comes out as Scorpio, Aquarius or Aries depending on which published time you take, which puts the very same Mars in three different houses.

Three times circulate for 27 December 1965 in Indore: 10:45am, published by Astro-Databank with an A rating and credited to Sy Scholfield citing the biography Being Salman; 2:30pm, published on AstroSage's kundli page for him; and 6:00am, which turns up in other databases. They produce three different rising signs, so this page publishes only what all three agree on — planet signs, his nakshatra and his dasha eras — and never houses, lagna or a manglik verdict.

His birth nakshatra is Dhanishta, and that's certain — the Moon spent the entire day of 27 December 1965 inside it, so the birth-time dispute can't touch it.
